Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this store. This wasn’t my first bad experience, it’s actually the second time this has happened. I came back hoping things had improved, but unfortunately it was the same poor service again. Today I went to buy chicken teriyaki from Saku Japan because Teriyaki Way was closed. When the person grilling the chicken put it into the container, he didn’t say anything. So I asked why I wasn’t being served properly, and he just told me to cover the container and put it in a plastic bag. After that, he sat down, started using his phone, and didn’t even make eye contact. My whole family got sick from the one in Trumbull Mall on 04/08/2026 been sick and throwing up still on 04/09/2026. Ordered the 2 for one special from DoorDash to Bridgeport Ct. We are extremely sick young kids and all. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT order from them. They knew the food was bad and half cooked with all the sauce on top who would’ve known.
Sarku Japan was a 10/10 experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked right in front of you, which made it even better. The portions were generous, and everything tasted amazing. Service was quick and efficient, making it a great option if you want something delicious without a long wait. Overall, a great spot for tasty Japanese-style food, we’ll definitely be coming back!
