I recently had my appendix removed at Sarasota Memorial Hospital at Venice, and I want to give special recognition to Dr. Sarker Sharfi, who performed my surgery. Dr. Sarker was a bit of a disappointment. I was referred by my PCP due to a burning pain around my bi-lat mastectomy site. (My surgeon who had continued to follow me post cancer treatment, had retired). Dr. Sarker made a point of describing to me all the things she "did not do", seemingly comparing herself to my previous surgeon who treated my whole person and made sure my follow-up care was never lacking.
