A hidden gem for anyone looking for a creative and artsy use of their time. Small local family owned business have been in the area for 35 years. They are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The class was informative and well structured giving me the confidence to try a more complicated piece without any prior glass Blowing knowledge. This was truly such a wonderful experience I recommend everyone try it atleast once.
This glass blowing tour exceeded every expectation. Saul, the owner, gave us his complete, undivided attention throughout — truly a one-on-one experience that felt personal and special from start to finish. Over the course of 1.5 hours, he walked us through the art of crafting a marlin out of molten glass, explaining every detail of his process with patience and enthusiasm. Did a couples glass blowing class with my wife. It was really interesting. It’s a LOT harder than it looks - the glass is always changing how soft it is, and you’re taking it out, putting it back into the glory hole furnace, taking it out. Always turning it to keep it from sagging or folding. It’s pretty amazing, though. And Saul has tons of other stuff he’s done around the shop. Lamps, architectural pieces, vases, etc.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Our group of four made vases and drinking glasses and did almost all the work ourselves. Saul and his son are awesome instructors and clearly love the art. If you want a unique experience in Santa Barbara, stop by this shop for a class!
Saul is an incredibly talented artist. The workshop is full of his many amazing works of art. I appreciate the enthusiasm and kindness he has shown me, over the years, in creating glass features that I can incorporate into my metal sculptures. It is always inspiring to watch Saul and his sons at work in the studio. Saul, his wife Gina and their two sons all work together and make SB Art Glass a not-to-be missed spot when visiting Santa Barbara. We are lucky to have such a world-class artisan in town.
