We needed immediate housing and the whole staff helped us every step of the way. The were curtious and respectful every step in the process. They knew we were stressed and were very kind and got us in a great apartment. They treated us as human beings even though we are senior citizens
Being on Section 8 waiting list for 3 years my name finally reached the top of the list and when I contacted Sanford housing I informed them that rental units were few and far between and they acknowledged that they were aware,so why would they pick my name and why not provide me with a list of units for rent,complexes or real estate agents? I have since found out that migrants have priority over citizens and if you find yourself in a similar circumstance that's more than likely the reason
We have been on for three to four years none of them answers phones and I am living illegally they think it’s a joke
Horrible program. Heat is not included in housing -maintenance guys are nasty. They treat people like garbage. The plow your car in if you file any complaint. During snow storms, you can't get home some places you have to sleep in your car all night cuz they won't plow. They allow other tenants to use our electricity and run up our bills. They tried making us pay for electric bills for other people and they won't fix it. Julie is nasty person. Don't believe that innocent demeanor. You're better off living in the woods.
Julie is a wonderful but I have really had it with these housing authorities. They cannot provide my asthmatic son with a drug and smoke free unit. I just moved from one bad situation to the next. It’s every complex yes but when are we going to start having real conversations about this? I have reached out multiple times to Boston and federal HUD and not one person has called or emailed me back. They didn’t at the last place I was at either.
