I sought out sane coz of the offer of peer support and a phone line staffed by clinicians. Their phone line is now staffed by rexovery workers and is kind of a joke. I called and all I got was advice on their recovery club. I do not understand why therr is a dedicated team to simply endorse a program they staff. The sane forums are very unsafe for mental health. The way they handle complaints is to ignore them but they have rules which ban and delete you if u speak critically of their service and ask that u put in an official complaint, which they fail to respond to. Sane is dangerous and illness focussed without high ethics. Im unsure what qualifies aomeone to be a moderator but they have become people that block and control things in a draconian way.

Not best practise, trauma-informed, or person-centred. I used Sane during the pandemic for support as advised by my public mental health support, however when I went through a crises recently, I accessed their forums and received very strange experiences with their moderators, and eventually was "Banned." there policy is to give "warnings" however they found 3 "breaches" in one post, banned me immediately with no warnings, and had the person I felt scared of reach out to me. Very old fashioned attitudes to mental health. Complex mental health needs skilled and multi disciplinary and experienced care. What i got from sane was very unprofessional, not best practise and felt like bullying.
