Took a 67 year old senior to get a haircut and Sandy charged him $19 because her definition of “senior” is 71 years old and over. The Amherst Senior Center notes you can get a Senior ID if you are 50 years and over. When we called the barber shop beforehand Sandy said seniors pay $15 for haircuts. She has established a senior age range that excludes many on low fixed incomes. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I go in there asking for what I usually get having pretty long hair. I explained to the girl to keep the front longer than the back and that I do like my hair on the longer side. She then chopped off all of my hair giving me a buzz cut. She was carless!!! Rushed my haircut. Do not come to this place.
After years of giving my husband great haircuts, we now take both of our sons here as well. Everyone who works here has been nothing but kind, friendly, and accommodating. We love the old-school barbershop feel -- cash and walk-ins only.
Very rushed and careless haircut. Barber seems disinterested in the customer's feeling and just wanted to get the job done, even though the shop was empty! Never in my life has $24 been so worthless, I would not return again as I felt like I was not valued as a customer. Perhaps you may spend a little bit more money on other barbershops but they will treat you with compassion and care. I hope this barbershop changes their ways.
