Four stars for presumably good to excellent cardiac ablation (too early to tell; I still get AFib episodes) ZERO for customer service, so average of two. Yes of course the former is more important, but I do not accept this very poor service. I know too well that health care customer service is often poor, but Dr D was awful -- short with me and arrogant with me and my unimportance to her is clear. Despite knowing I had a long trip scheduled, Dr D rescheduled my first surgery date two weeks without explanation. Ok. After the ... read more
Dr D (as patient's call her) performed Cardiac Ablation May, 2024 in Stamford Hospital. The surgery definitely improved my quality of life.
Dr. Dhruvakumar took care of me when I was in the hospital for sudden A Fib. She took great care of me for 1 week while I was hospitalized. I was told by her and in my Stamford Hospital discharge instructions to follow up with her “within 1 week”…she verbally told me it was imperative I see her in one week tops and it was written in my discharge papers however I cannot get into see her for 5 weeks…after explaining, complaining, speaking to a very rude fresh office manager all I received was an attitude and no help…after 2 da... read more
I found the doctor to be good however her staff is chronically incompetent and rude, therefore due to the undue stress brought on by her staff, and the doctors’ unwillingness to acknowledge or even consider her staffs’ unprofessional demeanor, I have sourced another cardiologist/ Electrophysiologist. My heart needs much better care than to be subject to the overall deplorable and stressful treatment I received.
Dr. Dhruvakumar intervened during a life-threatening crisis at Stamford Hospital one year ago, when she performed emergency heart surgery, with implantation of a cardiac defibrillator. I survived all this, under her superb care, and I have been able to resume my regular life. Since that day in August, she has carefully monitored my recovery and progress. She is a most caring and expert cardiac electrophysiologists, for which I am eternally grateful.
Dr. Dhruvakumar was on site at Stamford Hospital last year when I suffered a life-threatening cardiac event. Fortunately for me, she was available at the Emergency Room, and performed surgery, including successful implant of an electronic device. Since that time (August, 2018), I have been able to function in my daily life. Just as important, in my view, has been her caring and professional follow up and encouragement.
Dr. Dhruvakumar performed an ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation on me in March of 2014. The procedure was a success, and overall, she was a pleasure to interact with. Other reviews I have seen of her praise her for her communication skills, as well as the fact that she spends enough time with her patients to explain things well, and I wholeheartedly agree with both points.
Sandhya Dhruvakumar, MD has a 4.1 star rating with 18 reviews.
