We had the time of our lives staying at Sandcastles! Our unit was spacious, clean, quiet and well-equipped. The ocean view was stunning regardless of the weather and we even managed to see dolphins passing by at sunrise. We also had cockatoos perched on our balcony! The beach, bus stops and the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary were all at our doorstep, and shops/eateries were a short and pleasant walk away either along the beach or Teemangum Street. Never ever will I stay here again. Directly under flight path (think you can read the print on the underside of plane wings a few hundred metres above you). Not only noise. We stayed in u19 which is 50 steps up steep four flights from the car park - no lift. The onsite mgr just made it a joke and never offered to help us with luggage etc. Laughed at us both in our sixties lugging stuff up. The cleaning staff were kind enough to help us down. We stayed at Sandcastles for 2 nights. Great location but a number of issues. We felt that the unit interior was very clean but the exterior was in poor shape reflecting a lack of maintenance. The windows and flyscreens were dirty and grubby. The patio was in need of a good clean with a pressure washer, and the patio chairs needed replacement.
