BEWARE...take out travel insurance, I didn't and I'm out $4000. One week before we were scheduled to arrive I fell and fractured my tibia, ankle and torn my meniscus. I had a doctor's note stating DO NOT TRAVEL. Management told me it is the owner's discretion on how to handle this. The owner of unit 302 would not refund our money or comp us with another week. This would have been our 4th time staying at Sand Cay Resort. Very disappointed in how this was handled. I will never go back.
Just got back from a week at Sand Cay. Stayed in unit 118. Would NOT recommend this unit. It is perfectly located but has not been updated and I bet the owners haven’t even been back since it was built. Starting with the smell of oldness when you walk in, the Main bedroom bed is a squeaky nightmare and they have added a pad that is worn out too. The fan is so old and loud that you cant turn it on. The Main bath door is a trap so be careful closing it because you will get stuck. Spare beds are also squeaky and need replacing.... read more
Absolutely beautiful outstanding staff really enjoyed my trip. Can’t wait to return next year for a month.
Sand Cay used to be a reasonable alternative to other price gouging places, but they’ve started to fleece people now, too. When we originally started giving our business to Sand Cay just a few years ago, we paid a nightly rate of $250 or so. It’s gone up at least 50% in each of the following years, and now it’s…wait for it…$650 a night after fees.
