Sanctuary is my go-to when visiting Manhattan. It’s clean, comfy, has positive vibes, and the location ticks all the boxes (surrounded by good food, night life, train station, etc.). Best of all, the staff. Super helpful and quick with all questions and guidance. The rooms have a nice set up and the kitchen makes it easy for anyone needing to whip up a meal or two. The room was clean and huge, it was really great. The kitchen was very useful and well equipped. It was just missing a cutting board and a peeler in my opinion (since we cooked mostly vegetables) and it would be even more perfect. The hotel was very well situated, close to the subway and a lot of restaurants or places to eat. Even some places to do groceries shopping if you plan to cook. Today, I had the opportunity to use the services at Siam Retreat, and I was impressed by the professional service. The Thai traditional massage was the best I have ever experienced. The staff were polite, cheerful, and attentive to the customers. The place was beautiful and very clean. Finally, there were delicious pineapple cookies served with warm tea. I will definitely be returning.

We were excited about our family visit to NYC and Sanctuary NYC Retreats nearly ruined it. It's a very dated property and old, loud appliances and dated bathrooms. The entire property needs a complete refurbishment. Aircon in our room was so loud that we could not sleep at all for the first night. We then complained and were provided with a fan and ear plugs by the property (laughable - I know!). Instead of acknowledging that there is an issue, the manager of the property kept on defending that everything is fine with Aircon... read more
