Don't go there – There is a mean people taking the cars of the clients.WORTS PLACE EVER! I TOOK MY FAMILY TO THIS PLACE, OUR FIRST TIME THERE. WE WHERE 8 PEOPLE AND HAD TO WAIT FOR 45 MINUTE FOR A TABLE. MY HUSBAN AND BROTHER IN LAW STAY THERE WAITING FOR THE TABLE. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE REST TO SEE THE RIVER FOR 15 MINUTE, WELL THIS IS THE STORY MY HUSBAN LOOKED FOR ME AND MY CAR WASN'T THERE. Just all wrong.... – While conducting business in San Marcos the hotel that we stayed in recommended this local favorite. My co-workers and I arrived and thought the atmosphere nice. We sat, talked and laughed thinking we would enjoy the atmosphere and food. We began with an order of margaritas that were awful and in a glass w/ no shaker (however a nearby table ordered the same and the waiter shook and poured their drinks and left the remainder in the shaker for the guests). Worst Customer Service... Best Drinks. – I have been to River Pub many many times and everytime I go I tell myself I am not going back. But the food and drinks keep coming back. The service is less than par and the hostesses are the rudest host and hostesses I have ever experienced. I am in food service and it really bothers me to be treated that way. Great Place – I really enjoy good service and great food and drink! This place over the last 10 or years has been getting better to great! The menu has various options and their chef or whoever comes up with some really good selections. The price is right, they also have THE best mexican margaritas (I think they are a martini) and my wife digs the Mojitos. They also have a lower bar that serves burgers and appetizers. Worst Servie Of My Life – We showed up for fathers day lunch from San Antonio (30 minute drive) and were told there would be a 35 minute wait. Over an hour later we were seated by their incredibly unhelpful and rude hostesses, only to wait for our waiter another 10 minutes. When drinks finally arrived that turned out to be the only part of the meal that was correct. One of the orders was not put in and didn' t come out for over 20 minutes by which time we had it to go because no one could stand to be at that location another... read more

Really Great Place – We came from out of state to visit friends in Houston. We found the River Pub by accident, and will return whenever we are remotely close. Good food, atmosphere, service, etc. There have been no negatives. What can I say, I love the huge chicken-fried steak.

A wonderful atmosphere from relaxing by the river to fun in the bar. The food is fantastic. So many dishes with a unique quality. Pecan crusted chicken is super. Large variety of burgers... the best burgers I have ever had. Great salmon and catfish selections, too. Mango mojitos and mexican martinis are superb. Quality service. They have really become the hot spot of San Marcos.
