Hairspray was great!
What a gift to the Bay Area! Just saw a truly amazing, excellent, spirited and thoroughly entertaining performance of Hairspray. So much talent on one stage! Been to several plays here and somehow SF Playhouse finds the best talent, the perfect set designers and chooses wonderful plays to offer. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Having attended plays both on and off-Broadway, I’d say SF Playhouse is right up there with the best! I feel fortunate to have access to this Bay Area Treasure.

The theater is easy to miss, so look for the Children’s Creativity Museum first. Walk past the carousel and continue beyond the museum entrance. After a few more doors, you’ll find it on the right. I’m originally from Munich and have always had a soft spot for cozy, low-key places like this. It’s a lovely venue for smaller shows, with impressive production quality and good sightlines throughout.
