We are downtown San Diego’s resident professional theatre—celebrating year-round on our three stages and in our art galleries the diversity and creativity of our community. As the resident and managing company of the Lyceum Theatre, we produce and host over 550 events and performances a year. The REP was founded in 1976 by Sam Woodhouse and DW Jacobs. It’s gone under. Bye bye. I guess that’s what you get when you program niche material over actual art. A warning to other companies: this is the canary in the cave.
The SD REP is the best theater experience in San Diego! I have seen more than 30 productions over the years and have always come away feeling that I have been challenged to think and feel in profound ways. Community radio KNSJ 89.1 has developed a close relationship because we share concerns for social justice. I will always recommend the REP ... You are always guaranteed an intimate experience and never a bad seat. Support the local arts at SD' premier venue.
Mother Road was a decent successor to Grapes of Wrath, though not quite cooked yet. The mask and vaccine passport has got to go ... major hassle, and who do we think we're protecting?? :( I won't be back until all of that is gone.
We saw the Mother Road. Good play. Easy parking and easy access to the theatre. Lots of construction in the area, but the theatre was organized to handle it. Recommend seeing!
