My interactions with Gastrointestinal Associates have now ended with me discharging myself after my Upper GI. First of all I had a scheduled colonoscopy and upper Gi at 8:45 am. I called at 6 am since my liquid stool wasn't a clear color for the colonoscopy and the nurse said run to the store and pick up a bottle of magnesium citrate. Dr. Rama was recommended by my PCP as my previous Gastro was closing her practice. I am quite familiar with my condition and its issues and treatments. In the past, I previously called Dr. Rama’s office about an intestinal infection and got a callback two weeks later, asking if I still needed help, though the issue had resolved itself. I was frustrated by the delay and unnecessary follow-up weeks later. 18 polyps removed, some very large, At home, I had profuse rectal bleeding with large bloody clumps. After the bleeding filling four toilet bowls, Called the referred number on release papers to report the problem of the gushing blood and bloody clumps. Put on hold for several minutes. Operator returned to the line, she told me she would transfer me to triage. Transferred to triage, was again placed on hold. Dr Rama is wonderful she explained everything very well and such a great staff the girls there have been wonderful Dr Rama has really help me with my crohns and im so happy and thankful for her .
I received lack of compassionate care from this Dr and her nurse. I have severe anxiety disorder, and her nurse had me in full blown panic attack the day before the colonoscopy/endoscopy. Dr never called me with results of tests, my PCP had to call them to get them.
Absolutely awful! No compassion if you are in extreme pain! Triage nurses could care less too!
