Sampson's Auto is great! These guys are always so attentive to detail and look into every concern I have. They inform me of anything they notice that needs to be repaired sooner than later and have excellent customer service! 5 Stars in my book!
These guys target and rip off URI students. They charge high prices to diagnose issues then way overcharge for any service. Last year, I came in with a lot of friction and noise happening in one of my rear wheels and was charged over $300 for them to tell me all the things I was supposed to pay them to fix about my car totalling thousands of dollars. They also removed my parking break, solving the friction issue but adding to the reasons why my car was not worth inspecting. I don't have that car anymore so I don't hold that ... read more

I'd recommend all URI students stay away from this place. I came to this place on recommendation from a friend. Went there for a quote to replace a transmission on an older truck (04 GMC Sierra). These guys wanted to charge me five-thousand dollars! The diagnostic alone costed me $190! After hearing this I called transmission shops around the area and was able to get quotes ranging from $2800-$3500. Brett did work to my car that I did not agree to, over $2,000 worth of work on a car that had 200,000 miles on it. I wasn’t looking to put any more money into the car but he did the work without asking and then demanded the money. Scummy business owner. Will always try to do more work than needed.
