Extremely accomidating and inviting, even for beginners! – This is a beautiful and extremely accomidating studio. Although I am a novice to yoga, I found Samadhi extremely inviting. I have a pretty significant disability and am unable to do most of the yoga positions. After emailing Samadhi and telling them about my condition, I quickly received a reply recommending the perfect class for me. When I arrived to the studio, the staff quickly jumped in to help me set up my station and then continued to help me learn positions an... read more

Relaxing Environment, Amazing Community, Inspired Teachers – After a whirlwind tour of yoga classes in Seattle, I finally found my home at Samadhi Yoga three years ago. Hidden behind a storefront boutique, the immense, high-ceilinged main studio offers warm comfort and calm grounding the minute you enter, a true oasis on Capitol Hill. The teachers here have taught me that no matter what is happening in the chaos of my life, the studio is always a safe place to come and explore myself while reconnecting to my body. Aerobic-type yoga for the spiritually inclined. – In Short Samadhi is a Sanskrit word that means "supreme state of bliss," a state that some think can be reached through meditation and yoga. Owner Kathleen Hunt does her best to move you closer to samadhi. Hunt has been teaching yoga since 1986, combining various styles into a vinyasa (flow) style that keeps you moving smoothly between poses. She tries to keep her classes fun. Her overall goal, she says, is to make classes athletic but not competitive.

Its studio is a beautiful, peaceful space and its teachers are amazing They practice a vinyasa style of yoga and incorporate chanting, meditation, breathing exercises, visualization, and yogic philosophy. I have walked into classes at Samadhi preoccupied, frustrated, angry, stressed out and walked out invigorated and peaceful. I have never felt so consistently happy as I did when I was attending regular yoga practice at Samadhi. I actually chose the l... read more

Loka samasta sukhino bhavantu – Want to be physically challenged? Attracted to spiritual practice but not interested in religion, per se? Like to sing but no one wants to hear you? I haven't had a teacher who was less than wonderful any of the three studios I've been to, but I find that the the challenge and variety I want in my practice is best available at Samadhi. In addition to the asanas, most teachers do a fair amount of chanting/singing, which is a great deal of fun and is strangely addictive!
