Salon Tonic is great! I've been getting my hair cut at Salon Tonic by Anna Elia for 4, maybe 5, years. Anna always does a great job, is super friendly, and is very reliable. Salon Tonic has a nice atmosphere, is clean, professional, and they serve you a complementary beverage!

Super cool! The first time I walked into the salon was just to buy product. I heard they sold Bumble and Bumble and knew that was a quality line. The receptionist was kind and helpful, not too pushy and knew just what I needed for my curly hair. A few months later I decided to see what the stylists could do. First I got cut with the owner. Salon Tonic I had my hair colored at Salon Tonic by Anna Elia. First the roots were bright red instead of blonde, next time she tried same problem. Then I believe she stripped off all color and applied a toner which changed my hair to an odd reddish tone rather than blond. Three Salon Tonic employees then tried to convince me that my hair was blonde. I had been there 8 hours by that time! They then tried to charge me $180 for ruining my hair. Salon Tonic Salon Tonic is a very sophisticated and trendy salon in downtown San Diego, right around Little Italy. They have good stylist, and offer good services. They also serve beverages such as tea and coffee, but also wine and beer, which I was not used to. You have to pay to park in the metered parking around here. The only complaint I have is that this Salon is quite expensive. I only had my bags trimmed here after a mishap, so it wasn't awful for me, but if you need cut and color, I would think twice unless your hair... read more
