Salon Service Group was founded in March of 1987 by Gino Barbo, a native Australian. Gino started his professional wholesale salon supply company with one product line, an answering machine and a Ford Thunderbird. Gino quickly realized that it would take more than just his Australian accent to be successful in the beauty supply business. I’m not sure how many times I have driven over here on a Saturday when they are closed without posting it. It’s super annoying to drive and pull up two minutes before 12 when they are supposed to close at one and they are already closed.
