Popped into Salon 51 in Norridge for a much-needed hair refresh. Jenny hooked me up with a root touch-up and a trim. She really knows her way around blonde shades; my color looks seamless. The vibe in the salon is chill and welcoming. Only knock? Booking can be a bit tricky; had to call a couple times to get through. But overall, solid spot for hair care.
Yesterday was my second visit to Salon 51. I was assigned to Kim on my 1st visit some months ago. At 72, I've visited many stylests over the years, and because of her professional / personal approach, I believe I've found a new home! My previous styest retired, and I am overjoyed to have found Kim!!!
Do not get your hair done by Kim. I wanted to get my color touch-up, and she colored my hair red and charged me 160.00 and the roots looked terrible. Even when I told her they didn't match she ignored me. I asked the prices for the salon and they told me the salon charges 120.00 for a touch up. I asked why I was charged more. It is because Kim rents the chair and can charge whatever she wants. I went back for her to fix it and she ignored the bad color job and charged me 160.00 again.
