During 2021 COVID-19 lockdown I turned to Dr. Torrez to be my new GP. I did a "full physical" though no labs were done, no breast exam, or the basics. I felt that the physical was not thorough. The only thing Dr. Torrez was helpful with was starting me on some basic introductory mental health medications. Basic women's health she referred me out. Dr. Torrez is an exceptional doctor. She actually listens. I've seen her for over ten years. My husband sees her and both our kids did when they were young. During the COVID lockdown we were able to avoid the ER because Dr. Torrez always took our calls when our kid was sick. She cares about her patients and their families. Her diagnosis skills are impressive. She really is a wonderful doctor.
The front desk was pleasant but I’m not interested in returning. I felt there were micro aggressions because my husband is Mexican. I wanted to discuss changing my birth control and to explore other options. The doctor made a comment about how Mexican men don’t wear condoms. I’ve been with my husband for over 8 years and have used condoms as birth control. I felt completely uncomfortable and emotional. I did not feel comfortable being there and just nodded along.
Only cares about money. My bill was one week late. With no insurance at the time my prescriptions were cancelled. Poor doctoring
