Took our neighbor to see Dr. Manek. He spent an hour with him, asking questions, performing tests..... He seems brillant. I was at another appointment with another doctor and there is no comparison. If you know someone who has Parkinson's, I highly recommend Dr. Manek!
Some of you may not think this is a big deal but it affected my mom and I want to make sure that other are aware that this occurred. The experience that my mom just had with this Dr. and his office staff has me fuming. My mom's is unsteady and walks with a walker, she is also hard of hearing so my moms caregiver takes my mom to her appointments and the care text saying that MA that was assisting my mom was being rude and super impatient because my mom almost fell twice and apparently it was an inconvenience for her. He spent 3 hours with my dad, asking questions, doing tests. LISTENED TO MY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERED THEM!
Bad communicator and dishonest. To his credit I believe Dr. Manek has a decent scientific background. However he was treating me for one condition for years before I found out that in his notes he was suggesting I had a completely different condition all along. Imagine my shock! His notes even said numerous times that he’d informed me and I’d said I understood. He had not. To add insult to injury I had asked about trying treatment for this condition years earlier to see if it might help and he had declined. I worry this bord... read more
He is all business as he examines you and writes his notes and double checks his evaluation. When it is time to talk, he answers all our questions. He has more training than simply a neurologist. He has added educational years in recognizing and treating the other numerous brain diseases, vs just Parkinson's or Parkinsonism vs dementia, etc,. I would highly recommend him and feel very confident with all his recommendations. All neurologists in the Spokane area are heavily booked. Start early.
