Some of you may not think this is a big deal but it affected my mom and I want to make sure that other are aware that this occurred. The experience that my mom just had with this Dr. and his office staff has me fuming. My mom's is unsteady and walks with a walker, she is also hard of hearing so my moms caregiver takes my mom to her appointments and the care text saying that MA that was assisting my mom was being rude and super impatient because my mom almost fell twice and apparently it was an inconvenience for her. He spent 3 hours with my dad, asking questions, doing tests. LISTENED TO MY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERED THEM!
Bad communicator and dishonest. To his credit I believe Dr. Manek has a decent scientific background. However he was treating me for one condition for years before I found out that in his notes he was suggesting I had a completely different condition all along. Imagine my shock! His notes even said numerous times that he’d informed me and I’d said I understood. He had not. He is all business as he examines you and writes his notes and double checks his evaluation. When it is time to talk, he answers all our questions. He has more training than simply a neurologist. He has added educational years in recognizing and treating the other numerous brain diseases, vs just Parkinson's or Parkinsonism vs dementia, etc,. I would highly recommend him and feel very confident with all his recommendations. All neurologists in the Spokane area are heavily booked. Start early.
Approximately 20 years ago this person gave me a diagnosis and recommended treatment. Over the past few years my symptoms have increased and after seeing my primary physician and another neurologist I was referred back to him due to his specialty. However he refused to see me. And no reason given! I am appalled at the lack of compassion and professionalism in this situation
