I’ve been here five times now for everything from oil changes to minor repairs, and these guys have had endless opportunities to upsell me on nonsense. Instead, they’ve been honest, fair, funny, and invested in the wellbeing of my car. I once received a genuinely heartfelt lecture about changing my oil on time and cleaning rat debris out of my engine, which I learned is apparently a very real NYC problem. I was referred to this shop by neighborhood friends, and I'll be forever grateful. Mario is warm and friendly, wanting to sing karaoke while I waited for my car since I declined walking to the nearby bagel shop and hung in their office instead. Need a gym? Workout while you wait! Everyone in and out of that place knows and loves him and his boys, he's clearly a staple in the community. The service was quick and cheaper than my first quote elsewhere by $150. No one does it better than Salerno. I’ve been a customer for nearly a decade and there’s no one I trust more with my car needs. I take a lot of long road trips so reliability is a MUST. They’ve always been honest, attentive, and kept me safe on the road. Even my dad who lives in Florida feels assured knowing I get my car serviced at Salerno - that’s saying A LOT!! I’m so grateful to Mario and the rest of the team for their attention to detail and incredible service. 10/10 stars!!
I brought my car in for a NYS inspection and was told it failed due to needing new brakes and rotors, plus an emissions issue tied to a “thermostatic air cleaner.” When I asked for an itemized written estimate, they refused and said they’d already given it to me verbally. I took the car to another mechanic for a second opinion. It passed for both brakes and emissions. I was also told my car doesn’t even have a thermostatic air cleaner. They are the absolute best at Salerno’s! Been going here a few years since Ludlow closed and I wish I found them sooner. Always super helpful and transparent. Never have I ever met a mechanic where the price you pay is always lower than the quoted price. Everyone I’ve interacted with is super sweet and helpful. The only place to go.
