This is the third experience with Mario and his team. My brother is a car mechanic upstate. I grew up with a dad who not only fixed his cars but also built one back in Communist Poland in the 1960s. All to say that when I ran all the info by my brother he said that the charges were fair and that the information I was given along with the services was legit. I can’t speak to some of the other negative reviews. I certainly only have positive things to say about Salerno.

I took my car here after it was recommended to me, and I’m going to continue bringing my car here whenever I have something wrong with it. Mario and the guys are amazing, straight to the point, no bullshit, and make you feel like family. They gave me all new brakes, rotors, and front tires for a great price, and they were super fast. To top it all off, they gave me a bunch of tank tops in 3 different colors!

I had used this mechanic for a few simple repairs before, and the experience was acceptable up to a point. I had been a loyal customer, so the way I was treated during this experience was honestly shocking. I brought my car in because the belt had slipped and the tensioner needed to be replaced. They replaced both parts, but immediately after the repair my power steering started failing. I’ve been here five times now for everything from oil changes to minor repairs, and these guys have had endless opportunities to upsell me on nonsense. Instead, they’ve been honest, fair, funny, and invested in the wellbeing of my car. I once received a genuinely heartfelt lecture about changing my oil on time and cleaning rat debris out of my engine, which I learned is apparently a very real NYC problem.
