It’s been ten years since we dined at Sakura at the Double Tree in Flagstaff. We thought it would be a night of good food, entertaining atmosphere and reminiscing. Food was good, Chef was entertaining, people at our grill were talkative and friendly, but the bill was disappointing. Clean, upscale and Absolutley delicious ! Our server was amazing. The tepanyaki cook was fun and energetic. Make sure to stop by the front desk in the hotel for those doubletree cookies!
Well, the sashimi was decent at least. We ordered egg rolls for our toddler which I tried and didn't care for. The lumberjack roll was fine but the tempura shrimp inside was overcooked and half of it didn't have tempura. The "service", if you could call it that, was pretty bad. I barely saw the server despite it being mostly empty. We put the menus and paper trash from chopsticks and straws at the end of the table and they sat there until after we left.
