Specialties

Nestled in downtown Mountain View, Sakoon offers diners a tantalizing blend of traditional and contemporary flavors representing multiple Indian regions. Executive Chef Sachin Chopra has created dishes that borrow from the past, yet are reinvented anew with vibrancy and modern flair. Named for the Indian word for "peace," Sakoon was designed to envelop diners in warmth and serenity. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll be greeted by the image of Buddha in hand-carved wooden panels, the glow from fiber-optic chandeliers, and the shimmer of a waterfall cascading into a pool of lotus petals.
We invite you to join us for an exquisite dining experience.

Citysearch Editorial Review – In the Bay Area, there are curry houses aplenty. Then there are the handful of Indian restaurants offering a more exclusive fine-dining experience. Rarely, however, do you find Indian cuisine housed in an ultra-funky, energetic setting. Enter Sakoon, with its hypnotic, glowing, fiber optic chandeliers to its trickling wall fountain that spills into a pool of lotus petals; the eclectic, exotic décor sets it apart from anyplace in Mountain View. The menu is equally exceptional, pulling largely from the unsung Kashmir region style of cooking. Diners will experience an entirely new repertoire of spices and sauces. The Murgh Sakoonwala is a spin on traditional chicken curry that touts flavors from the kitchens of Moghul Emperors, while the Phool Makhane Ki Subzi is Indian cottage cheese sprinkled with popped lotus seeds. Attention to presentation is impeccable, and entrees arrive looking like vibrant, edible works of art.
