A seven-hour wait in emergency care while a child cries in pain reflects a deeply dehumanizing healthcare experience.
We visited the ER due to worsening abdominal pain that progressed to vomiting and then chest pain. While we understand that wait times can be long, it was concerning that even after reporting worsening symptoms, there was no timely reassessment. Additionally, the triage nurse we interacted with was extremely rude and dismissive, which made an already stressful situation even more difficult. Patients coming in with serious and worsening symptoms deserve to be treated with empathy and taken seriously.
Such a LONG wait time regardless of your reasoning for being there, my airways were closing and I could not breathe they made me wait for 6 hours to see someone just to tell me there’s “nothing wrong” and to send me home feeling the same way.
