What a pleasant surprise! – overnite stay in redding en route north to Washington and we decided to trust other reviews and had dinner here. Absolutely the best, freshest fried calamari I've ever had. Before that, it was fried calamari at the Blackfish Cafe in Lincoln City which was great. Mom's favorite Chinese in Redding This is my mother's favorite Chinese restaurant in Redding. There are one or two places I like better, but the food here is always good, prices are decent, and the pupu platter is still the best appetizer around.
Excellent For A Smaller Town I've eaten at Sailing Boat many times and I know the owner, George. He's super-friendly and seems to take great pride in his restaurant. It shows in the quality of the food. When I say it's excellent for a smaller town, I mean just that. Sailing Boat is highly recommended! The Sailing Boat combines great food and great service with affordable prices. I have tried many of their dishes and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and served in a timely manner. They offer good specials every day. I've taken friends and family here, and even had them cater an event. Outstanding.
