** DO NOT use this company under any circumstances** Sahara Solar installed a solar system for us a couple of years ago and we have had no issues with it. When I decided to add a battery they seemed like the obvious choice. Paid $6000 for a battery several months ago in March but it has not been installed yet. They have stopped returning calls, texts and emails.
Very frustrating experience with Sahara Solar. The installation was never completed and communication was inconsistent. Simon asked for upfront payment exceeding 10%, which is not aligned with regulatory requirements, leading to escalation to DBDRV. I had to go through CAV, NETCC, DBDRV and VCAT just to recover my deposit. Stay away from these guys. Constant BS and lies. I paid a $4k deposit in January for a battery installation. Since March I’ve been told it’s going in but then nothing happens. It’s now the 10th of June and no one from the company will talk to me personally. Now I have to go through consumer affairs and my merchant bank to try and get money back from these scammers. Do not go near them.
I echo Sally's review 100%, done 8 months ago. After sales service is appalling. I installed an Aquatech hot water heat pump a few years ago with many faulty installation issues. Jenny referred me to the third party servicing company. But no follow up from Sahara solar. No response to phone call, to email whatsoever. After sales Care factor is extremely poor. I also found out later their prices were not that competitive either. Buyer Beware!!!
Buyer beware that this company has no office or shop front (even though their website and google says they do), so you can never actually chase the up properly. It’s a case of smoke and mirrors as Simon tries to make it look like he is the sales manager and the company also has directors, project managers, office staff, an office, an warehouse etc. This is incorrect as it is a sole trader ABN attached to Simon Miller only.
