Today we attempted to do the kayaking down the river. I made it a half a mile before i got stuck in the rapids under a bush and flipped my entire kayak over and got separated from my group and had to swim through the rapids to get to them. although it was traumatizing and super scary the staff was great with getting out to us and getting us back to the launching point safely. They offered us towels to dry off gave us waters and gatorade and even offered to transfer our tickets to another day so we can come back and try again... read more
This is our second time renting kayaks from SLR. Both times were great experiences. Definitely looking forward to doing this again.
A little off main stream which made it for us even more enjoyable
We did the self guided kayak excursion down the Salt River. The team was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. The float is very relaxing, has some good scenery and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see some wild horses. The weekends on the river are ridiculously busy with tubes etc. so I’d book during the week or early morning on the weekend if at all possible.
