I am very disappointed with my experience here. After showing Melissa Aceto (attending veterinarian) four clear videos of my horse’s severely lame right hind leg, she diagnosed the wrong leg (left hind). I followed up with three phone calls and three emails trying to clarify and resolve the issue, without success. I was charged over $700 for an incomplete exam and no answers pertaining to the lameness my horse was brought in for and was told varied/conflicting information by the same vet. HAS ANYONE ELSE’S HORSE BEEN CONTAMINATED WITH STRANGLES AFTER TREATMENT AT THIS FACILITY IN 2025???
Everyone here was wonderful; unfortunately I did end up making the decision to euthanize my mare. The team went above and beyond expectations to do everything they could to help her. I had to make this very difficult decision after a week of treatment for Colic with no signs of improvement. I was 8.5 months pregnant, so my emotions were at an all time high. We have been clients of SVEC for many years and have always received high-quality care with excellent transparency in cost. The vets and thier staff provide very good education and review of diagnostic and treatment options. I appreciate that they do client education events, support local community programs (they offer their own scholarships and support local exceptional rider programs) and that they work with veterinary students.
