Jimmy runs the best marina ever. His attention to every little detail is awesome. I can’t say that we have ever had a problem that he didn’t take care of at once. We would be lost without his ship store. It’s the only place left to get the parts we need.
My buddy who is also a Barton & Gray member said the Barton customers are treated as second rate here, BUT that’s not my experience! I’ve never shipped out of Sag before, but our captain was awesome! I was there for a day charter and popped in the office to find the bathroom. Got chatting with a South African fellow named Will (not sure what he does there) but he talked me through the whole slip application process. Our experience at Sag Harbor Yacht Yard has been extremely disappointing, particularly with the way the marina appears to be managed. After returning from a two-day trip, we arrived to find Jim’s personal boat occupying our assigned slip. We had received no phone call, text, or other notification that our slip was being used. Had someone simply contacted us, we could have called ahead and asked that the boat be moved before our arrival. JIMMY IS AMAZING! I had a problem with my shift cable and I was in Sag at a mooring (but not on boat). He had his guys pick up the boat, bring it to their dock and fix it without me even going down there. Absolutely great service! Thanks Jimmy and crew!
We highly recommend the Sag Harbor Yacht Yard and Marina!! The manager Jimmy Scheme was experienced helpful and welcoming and made our visit to Sag Harbor very special. He and his staff went above and beyond to meet every need. The location is Prime and provided parking. We look forward to coming back and highly recommending this yard/marina to everyone!!
