VERY EXPENSIVE – I have a bi-weekly budget for groceries and house supplies and have been going to Safeway in Anacortes for years. I did not notice the steady rise in prices but had my eyes opened when friends came to town. I phoned the new Wamart and spent 5 minutes getting prices over the phone. I am paying MUCH more here in town. Goodbye Safeway, your not on my side

Works for me!! – I prefer all Safeway stores. I think it's ridiculous that anyone is complaining about the prices of things OTHER than food. Dog food, tylenol or asprin, toilet paper? That is all convenience!! You get what you pay for. Buy the groceries at Safeway and get your prescription filled at the same time. Buy stuff when it's on sale, use coupons and get your gas discount. Buy your dog food, toilet paper and headache medicine at Walmart! : )
Safeway in Anacortes has THE HIGHEST PRICES in our area – Safeway Store in Anacortes has the HIGHEST PRICES in the state of Washington. Why?? Prices such as $19.00 for Pedigree dry dogfood, and $17.99 for Excedrin Aspirins 100 count. Everyday needs such as toilet paper, breakfast cereals and produce, have the highest prices in the area. Boycott Safeway, they are not our friends.
Great on Fridays – Shopping to me is not a fun activity, ANY and All shopping is avoided at all costs. So to say that this store falls into the tolerable category is high marks from me. In ALL my visits the staff has been exceptionally friendly and extremely helpful and very important there are always MANY checkstands open so the wait is short.
