safer arms Overall a good experience, Range is clean, air conditioned and set up nicely. The staff was helpful and polite until I looked at buying a pistol. Then the 2 kids helping be became very snobbish. They even told me they did not stock h&K or sigs because they are crappy and overated. Then tried to sell me a crappy xd which I rented on their advice and it kept jamming. They told me I didnt know how to shoot even I showed them my used target that would prove otherwise. Great Shop Safer arms is a great place to shoot, buy and learn. I have read several reviews here that complain that the employees are snobish and rude. One person claims that they were told that H&K were junk from one of the employees and that they were not not worth the money.....I had an employee me loan me his personal "H&K" as I was interested in getting the subcompact......hard to believe there is truth in that statement. Safer Arms West Coasts #1 indoor range!! I bought my first hand gun there in 1990!! I've shot in their indoor range since I was a Reserve Police Officer for Chico. Since then I've made several gun & ammo purchases. Best customer service and nicest indoor range I've been in!! They know and understand the laws and will fit you to the perfect firearm.

Good friendly people these people are really friendly and will help you with what you need. the one star review is ridiculous who would think theyed pay 3$ for a box of ammo your high grow up.
Needs new employees The range is the only good thing about Safer Arms in Chico. The people that work there are very cocky and self absorbed. They try to make you feel stupid about your lack of knowledge. If there was another indoor range in Chico I'd never have a reason to go there.
They need an answering machine How about purchasing an answering machine?? I have been calling and calling (893-2235) just needing to know your hours (I'm from out of town) and a couple of easy questions...but it just keeps ringing and ringing, and ringing. Your Facebook page says: Mon - Sat: 10:00 am-7:00 pm 10:00 am-8:00 pm Does that mean Sunday 10-8pm? Or are you not open on Sundays? What business doesn't have a voice mail these days?
Customer Safer Arms has been one of the most helpful stores I've been to. Their service people know their business and have never shown any snobbishness nor have they misdirected with bad information. As a matter of fact, the store manager Sean saved me from making a bad decision and directed me to one of the best firearm deals I've ever had. The range is clean and bright, the store is well laid out and spacious.
