just now New I was at this shelter for around 90 days. I wasn’t assigned an advocate in that time. No one helped me. Not legal, not housing, not the in-site staff. I was basically bullied out of the program. Another client assaulted me, followed me around the kitchen filming me, and stole my food. This client frequently used her body as a barrier to keep me from leaving rooms or using the stairs and had a reactive and aggressive dog that they kept in the living room so basically, no one could use it. Staff did nothing to hel... read more

This place is a joke for being the only DV agency in the area. A bad joke at that. I've tried multiple times to get help for myself & child to get out of a level A1 DV situation. They did nothing, but treat me with snyde disregaurd.

I swear it's like they really don't want you to get help. It's almost like this place is a front to get publicity and funding but when you call in asking for help you are shamed shunned and ostracized and basically told to shutup. Couldn't be more ashamed of the fact that this place calls itself a place that helps people because it couldn't be more far off. And the night advocate is basically there to be abusive to people who call in and then act like it never happened. Gaslight central. How twisted can you get. You're a lit... read more

I know Safe Place solely as a donor of goods needed by the women and children who use theorganization's services. While many in our community would like to believe that there are no cases of domestic violence in our neighborhoods, Safe Place cares for and helps hundreds of women and their children every year. Every year. Safe Place provides receipts and maintains relationships with donors because the need never decreases. It is a non-profit working confidentially with an endangered population.
