Replacement of my windshield was fine, but the damaged my cowl so bad it has to be placed! At $250 to purchase a new one....not happy.
Went in for a small (pea size) chip repair and the technician comes back and says that the windshield would not hold up to the stress of his machine and it cracked. Therefore, I now need a windshield (went from $150 to $1,400). The installer told me the windshield should not be hot, but he attempted to make the repair in full Sun. Great
Last Monday, I scheduled a window replacement with my insurance for this Wednesday. This Monday Safelite confirmed my appointment. Tuesday, Safelite called to cancel. When I called them back I was told the window did not arrive and they didn’t know where it was. They were not helpful and implied I should be happy if I only had to wait 3 weeks. I hung up and called a local glass company who could source the window in 2 days. Lesson learned: call around to see what your options are before settling with Safelite.
I got a quote, it was double the price of another company, offering the exact windshield, calibration, and lifetime warranty. Look around trust me it's worth it. I did use the app and called.
