When making my appointment I was asked by Safelite Florence (unsolicited) if I would like them to do the safety camera calibration. I asked if they had the right equipment and did they know how to do it. They responded 'yes'. After installing the windshield the installer spent about 15 minutes trying to calibrate the camera and ultimately gave up saying they could not get the camera calibrated. I called Safelite to get a quote on a windshield replacement after calling two other companies. They originally quoted me $315, but dropped their price by $90 after I told them that their local competitor only was going to charge $245. I hesitantly scheduled an appointment, only to realize that the appointment time wouldn't work for me. I called back to cancel because I wanted to do more research before I decided to throw out $225 to a company who was unwilling to offer me honest pricing to begin with.
