I think this place is wonderful! I know a couple of the reviews are quite bad, but they're a bit outdated as when I went there the managers were both relatively new. This place is honestly the best bet you have for a mental hospital, it has 1-on-1 therapy with an actual therapist, many of the workers are quite kind and talkative. i stayed here back in august and it was pretty good in my opinion, but there were some flaws. most of the staff were pretty nice and from my personal experience the other children there were nice as well, but obviously that can vary depending on when you stay. but, i feel like this experience personally didn’t help me as much. i struggle with depression and ptsd and i think most of the activities were pretty boring and didn’t really help me. especially since you have to do them multiple times in 1-2 weeks which gets repetiti... read more
the staff were very sweet, but they weren't there to help you. they were there to babysit you. i remember telling all the staff i felt unsafe in the house i was housed in, and instead of taking action, they brushed me off and continued to keep me in the house i was housed in. i didn't feel safe being housed with men either, and some of the men i talked to in the house i was in made me extremely uncomfortable. another thing is that the staff will openly air their opinions. and i don't just mean that they say something innocuo... read more
Was very pleased with Dr. K and staff. I feel my child grew and progressed here. Everyone was kind and understanding and patient with myself and my son. I believe Safehaus may have finally broken some barriers that were in the way of my childs growth and healing due to his mental health and we can continue moving forward on the journey of healthy happy mental strength. Our child was here last year, there was very little supervision and there were both boys and girls in the same house with no supervision. Very disappointed that this was where we turned to at a very hard time in our child’s life. This is not a safe place for children who are at risk.
