Went it for a recheck today, inspector said was all fine and the issue was resolved. When asked what I had done to fix the issue, he was unhappy with repairs and decided that the repair was no longer satisfactory. Not exactly happy with the consistency.

Very disappointing. Poorly supervised trainee inspectors erroneously failing vehicles resulting in extra mechanic costs $$.
