SAFE CREDIT UNION HAS BETRAYED MY TRUST FOR THE FINAL TIME. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE BEEN DOUBLE-CROSSED, COSTING ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. BOTH TIMES, I HAD GONE INTO THE 121 NORTH SUNRISE AVE, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661 BRANCH. FILLED OUT THE PAPERWORK THEY GAVE ME, AND IT WAS WRONG.
They just shut down my Visa after making a simple $215 purchase at a large retailer without notifying me, I found out when next purchase was declined and created an EMBARRASSING UNNECESSARY SITUATION at a store. This is the second time in a year. No care, no apoloies, or courtesy from escalation team. Idea not implemented to simply send send a text informing the card has been shut down for security. I was assured would not happen again. Unbelievable. It is 2025. I have lost confidence.
I have had two recent interactions with the customer service reps at Safe credit union. Both encounters were so informative, so helpful, and so eye-opening. Before, I have not had the patience dealing with call centers with various businesses and banks. The first time I called, I asked a lovely person for some advice on how to send money outside the state to a friend. Brooklynne walked me through the process. She told me that time was not an issue. I got an auto loan through SAFE, and at first I was happy to support a local credit union over a large bank and the rate offered was competitive. But once my loan was paid off the troubles started. When your loan is paid off they automatically lock you out of your online account, making it impossible to access any past statements! This seems at best a major security risk, and at worst outright illegal. How can they completely lock someone out of their account after they have made all their loan payments!?
