Outstanding free BLM camp, with toilets, tables, and huge sites. There are only about 6-7 sites, but they're big enough for multiple cars/RV's/tents, and widely spaced, over 100ft apart. All circled around a nice little pond. Great for an overnight or longer. There are more dispersed sites farther up the road, but they are not level and mostly forested (junipers)
Great spot to stay the night. Very well appointed.
I visited this campground during Great Basin's astronomy festival in 2026. I showed up Thursday afternoon and the place was pretty busy, all campsites were filled at the main campground area. Although, there were plenty of campsites out on the outskirts which was where I camped. I managed to bring my 20 ft trailer there, but the roads weren't great once I left the main camping area. That being said, it was an excellent place to stargaze, just be prepared for wind.
This has got to be the nicest BLM camping site I've seen ever. Lots of room for big rigs, and even if fishing pond. Vault toilets. Sun shade canopies and picnic tables on some sites.
Superb spot for the right price ($0). Close enough to Ely and Great Basin NP. Adequate Verizon internet, especially the upper spots. Let's keep this place secret!
