I wasn’t fully sold on going to physical therapy for jaw pain (TMJ) because I simply didn’t know what a physical therapist could do for the jaw. Dr. Matt Mailhot changed my mind completely within the first visit. He did a complete assessment and showed me some exercises that helped me feel better from day 1. He also sends you home with “homework” haha. I just had my second visit and he did jaw and neck massages to target my pain and added a good amount of new exercises for me to layer in. I cannot recommend Saco Bay Physical Therapy highly enough! I was referred to Matt by my dentist for TMJ, and it was a great experience start to finish. Matt is *incredibly* knowledgeable and kind. I felt comfortable immediately and looked forward to attending my sessions there. Their receptionist, Karen, is genuinely one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Ashley quite literally gave me my life back. I was in chronic pain from an accident a few years ago and couldn’t find relief. When I met Ashley I had gone through various other treatments, including physical therapy elsewhere, and had basically given up. The care and attention I was given at Saco Bay is completely unmatched. The exercises are purposeful and thoroughly explained. Ive only had a couple sessions so far but I have had nothing but the best experience. I’ve seen so many people or tried all different things to help with my TMJ including PT elsewhere. I already feel I’ve gotten more out of these sessions than the months of appts that I had at other places. Matt not only explains what and why he’s doing something but is consistently making sure I’m not experiencing pain.
