My mother 89 years old went to ECU URGENT CARE in Roanoke Raids N. C. on 12/08/24 tested positive for covid 19 someone there told her to go home and take Tylenol! I called back the urgent care nurse was too busy to talk me so Miss Abbey the urgent care nurse on duty relayed a message by the receptionist that because of my mother's heart condition they could not prescribe ANY meds for her. Dr. Stephan Gurlach saved my brother in law’s life in the ER on 19.November.2023! Once he got my brother in law’s heart stability, he had my brother in law airlifted and transported to Vidant Cardiac ICU and admitted. Kudos to Dr. Stephan Gurlach and God Bless! I would give him 10 Stars if I could!♥️

My 92 year old aunt was brought to the ED by EMS in the middle of the night. She was in severe pain. The X-rays on her abdomen were ok so they sent her to the waiting area. She sat hunched over moaning in pain for hours. The 3rd shift triage nurse said 10 beds became available and they were being cleaned. Two hours later after shift changes she was finally given a bed. Had a car accident while visiting NC from VA. It was a pretty bad one. Wife was rushed to Chowan hospital. Fortunately everything turned out alright - no broken bones or internal injuries. I was highly impressed with the staff, their compassion and how friendly and tentative they were!
I wish i could put 0 stars. I've been to emergency rooms in 5 different states in much larger cities and ECU is the absolute worst. Today I went in for extreme nerve pain loss of feeling and function of my leg. After patiently waiting 8 hours I asked if I could get an approximate time when I could be seen. I was told it would be at least another 4 hours. Then when I said "Ok that's it I'm done wheel me out I'm leaving right now." Because ECU Health Medical Center has removed the ability to leave ratings on their page. Here is my rating. You would get a negative 100 from me. If it were possible. Friday, I went into the hospital with dizziness and cramping. I was pregnant. It was discovered that I had a complication that would need emergency surgery if gotten worse. It did. Get worse... My husband has been admitted to this hospital pretty much yearly for the past 4 years or so. I have to say that for the most part, they have some great Doctors and Nurses. We have had occasional issues, such as : rude & prejudice nurse administering too much insulin ( darn near killed my husband ) got his sugar up in normal range & then tried to give him more insulin.
