I saw Dr Nahapetian for Long Covid related 5yr+ breathing struggles. I arrived masked because as someone with a collection of autoimmune disease, I am high risk and with each acute case of Covid or other simple common illnesses, my lung troubles worsen. He spent more time ridiculing me for wearing a mask in a hospital setting (which has signs up with free masks for patients that need them), than he did listening to my symptoms and complications. Husband saw him regarding breathing issues. During the visit he discussed possible places that could assist out of state, it needed, depending on results. He ordered a SNIFF test and stated that he would call with results - we waited. When we called him for results, were told he was out of town and would call when he returned - NO CALL. Sent a letter requesting answers - NO RESPONSE. Requested appointment and it was set for 4 months out! Dr. Naphapetian was very concerned and professional. He advised me concerning my condition and offered advice on how to help ease my anxiety. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer my concerns. He is very direct which I found pleasing. Some patients may want a less direct approach but the time spent should be directed towards your condition not socializing and wasting important time spent with Dr. Naphapetian. He spent my appointment time discussing my sleep apnea but moved quickly to promoting a carnivore diet book - "don't buy anything at the grocery store, it's killing you". I wasn't there for a dietician, wanted advice on how to breathe more effectively, isn't that what a pulmonologist does? He took no consideration to what my body can tolerate, nor what my household can afford and just took one look at me, like so many others, and suggested a diet.
