Our experience with Dr. Patel was deeply distressing and ultimately tragic. During my 5th-month anatomy scan, an issue called Marginal Cord Insertion (MCI) was identified in the ultrasound. Shockingly, Dr. Patel never communicated this to us. She seemed rushed, spent very little time with us, and simply said everything looked fine. As a first-time mom, I was initially hesitant about joining a group practice where I wouldn’t know exactly which doctor would deliver my baby. But working with the RWJ OBGYN group completely put me at ease. Every doctor I saw was experienced, kind, and provided me with well-rounded, thoughtful care throughout my pregnancy. This group delivered 2 of my 3 kids. I felt like the doctors listened to me and were willing to accommodate where they could (I requested Dr. Segal to deliver my 3rd child. He added himself to the schedule for me). Overall, I’m very happy with the care that I received.

I’ve been a patient of this practice for 15 years and when I showed up for my annual appointment today, which I had made 5 months in advance, I was told it had been canceled. I was never notified of this and was told the cancellation was not their fault as it was a glitch in the system. They were unwilling to accommodate me or rectify the situation. It was clear that they did not value my time or care about keeping me as a patient which was very disappointing.
