DO NOT do business with this company!! They are scammers!!!! My mom paid on homeowners insurance for 13 years. She had a small kitchen fire 5 months ago and her house is still a mess. The adjuster keeps denying needed repairs and won’t return her calls. After 5 months she still cannot return to her normal life! This company needs to be shut down!!! Looks like I’m gonna have to get my lawyer involved 🤦♀️ Be warned…
Had water damage & RVOS adjuster gave extremely low estimate for repairs. After two contractor estimates, one contractor excused themselves stating they could not come close to doing the repairs for such a low dollar amount. The second contractor negotiated with the RVOS adjuster for 3 weeks & got the adjuster to raise the payment to almost double. Had been using RVOS to insure a rental property for a number of years but decided to change carriers though I never had made a claim against the policy . I always paid the total annual premium at the beginning of each policy year. When I called to cancel my policy my check payment had not yet been deposited so I thought that it would not and either be returned or destroyed. RVOS is a bad company to insured one of the most valuable things-your home. I have been insured for 24 years with the company and have never had a claim. A few months ago I had damage to my roof. I called and completed a claim.. They told me I have an actual cash value policy and not a replaceable value policy. This means the policy is worth the replacement value minus your deductible minus depreciation. In my case, it went from $16, 000+ to $2800+. I have had rvos for 10 years and the only time I needed their help was this year for a leak in the roof. they refused to cover any damage inside and only covered half of the price of a new roof so I had to get a loan to pay it off and while I am doing all of this they jack up my rate and made my mortgage go up 100$. thanks rvos.
Good luck getting anything covered, or getting them to look at the damage. They won't even return phone calls much less assess legitimate claims. The adjuster was in my home less than a minute and did not investigate at all. He didn't call when he said he would, and I had to call and ask for his supervisor just to get a response, over a week later. It was, of course, a "no". Do not buy insurance from these people, Nothing but hassles and lousy customer service.
I have been with RVOS for 7 years and my experience has been a nightmare. I have had 3 claims and here is how each one has gone: #1: I had a roof leak 2 years ago which lead to water damage on the ceiling. We had lots of shingles missing off of the roof from storms. The adjuster came out to the house, took pictures of the brand new roofs on either side of me, and completely ignored the older comparable roofs across the street from me. After the Thrall tornadoes on the early morning of February 20th my husband called to make a claim. Two days later the insurance adjuster called and said he was in Thrall, my husband asked him to give him 30 minutes notice before he got to our house due to my husband being a volunteer fire fighter and they were helping with clean up.
