An absolute nightmare of a company. They have no problem taking your money, but will not follow through with what was promised. Wish I had read all the negative reviews before I used them

I was told my full refund of $****** would be mailed Dec. 3, 2021. After I called several times when I did not receive it I was told they were going down "a list" but couldn't explain what list they were referring to and hung upon me. I am elderly and just informed I have arthritis of the spine by an orthopedic doctor. This unethical treatment by RVA Chimney Sweeps is just not right. 18 months ago we had our chimney repaired by RVA Chimney Sweeps LLC. It was old and needed repointing, a new crown and we wanted to cap it off since we don't use it. We were charged $****. We checked on it a month ago because rain water was coming down into the house. We found everything disintegrating. The chimney was not re-pointed correctly. This is the worst experience I have ever had. We had a chimney inspection scheduled, it was the 2nd year in a row using the company. The inspector arrived and upon reviewing the firebox and chimney suggested that whoever did the work last year must have done nothing because we had "stage 3 creosote", he asked if we use the fireplace for heat I said no but during the winter we did have a fire approximately once per week . This is a sad excuse for a business. They missed multiple appointments and made up excuses each time. They require a deposit to schedule the appointment. When they finally showed to do the work they again had to reschedule the inside vs outside work. I was not home for the outside work and they decided to charge me another $150 without authorization. RVA chimney sweep did a great job serving and cleaning our really dirty chimney. Robert , the owner, came twice to clean our chimney since it was super dirty and no one had cleaned it in probably 10 years. My father in law used them as well. We will be using them every year now.

I found RVA Chimney Sweeps through an ad I came across. I looked them up and saw they were licensed and insured so I gave them a call despite the one negative complaint a previous customer made. It's a father/son business and the father (Rob) came to my house to clean my chimney. He had brought over their licence and insurance policy per my request because BBB states they have not provided to them. Rob was polite, easy to talk to and did an excellent job cleaning the chimney. This company claims to have purchased cvcc corp (F rating)which also goes by central va chimney chap. That liscence is revoked and has records on file where they were charged and suspended for taking money and not completing work. Do not prepay for work or engage in business with this company. Always claims to be on a roof and will call back. No active LLC on file
