Dr. John Thouvenelle is a wonderful caring Equine vet. Last night I had a yearling colt who had an obstruction in his thoat and was choking. My local large animal vet was on vacation and the other local vet is a small animal vet who was unwilling to care for a horse, due to her unfamiliarity with horses. (she did get us the meds Dr. Thouvenelle prescribed) The only other option I had was to load up and drive 30 miles to a vet I never heard of and had no idea how much equine experience they had.
