I was refered to Upstate University Hospital for a c6-c7 herniated disc spinal surgery with severe left foramen narrowing. Dr. Shen is the best doctor I have ever had. I had Endoscopic Spine Surgery at C6-7 both sides. It releases nerve pressure caused my fore arm pain, stinging and figure tip numbness. From the start all of doctor shens team helped me get all of my appointments scheduled and meet with Dr shen and From there it was less than 30 days to surgery to relieve my back pain and I honestly can't believe how soon I was able to return to work not to mention being pain free. Dr. Shen. Could see I was in so much pain when I consulted with him. He was prepared and confident as he reviewed the MRI with me and explained what his plan of action was going to be . Surgery ! Dr. Shen is amazing. Not once but twice my husband has had different back issues and the pain was chronic. Dr. Shen both times fixed the issues and within a couple weeks of the procedures my husband is back to normal. No pain. Dr. Shen is so knowledgeable and offers the best care ever! His staff, Mary Jo and Crystal are caring and supportive. We had a tough time dealing with insurance and Mary Jo went above and beyond dealing with the problem. I was referred by 3 co-workers to Dr. Shen for spine surgery. I was not disappointed. Dr. Shen performed surgery less than 2 weeks after my initial appointment, to repair the spinal stenosis in my L3-4 and L4-5 vertebrae. I am 100% satisfied and pain free thanks to Dr. Shen.
Dr Jian Shen, his administrative staff and surgical staff provided great guidance, transparency, medical care and follow up. This is for a Laminotomy to address spinal stenosis. I highly recommend him as a surgeon for spinal issues. Compassionate, professional, and highly effective!
