Get directionsHORRIBLE experience. I have no idea why this place is called an emergency. How can you not have enough stuff to see patients who come to you with emergencies? How can an emergency visit last 5 hours? And we are mot even done yet. Still in the sitting area, waiting to see a doctor. And no one is willing to give us an estimate of wait time. This is freaking 21st century! It’s is beyond me.
My experience at Rush Copley ER was disappointing. The wait times are extremely long, even in situations that feel urgent, and the department seems understaffed, which creates added stress for both patients and providers. When I went to have my blood drawn, the young practitioner with dark wavy/curly hair rolled her eyes and said, “ugh, I’m never going to get my food,” which made me feel uncared for at a time when I really needed compassion. I came to the ER due to an inflamed large intestine, causing me significant amounts of rectal bleeding, immense abdominal pain, rapid weight loss, vomiting, and dehydration. The only thing Rush did to help was provide an IV bag for dehydration. After my ER visit and a multi-thousand-dollar MRI scan, Dr. Kevin Chang told me to go home, take Tylenol, and get a colonoscopy, which wasn't available until “sometime in November.” No further help or assistance was provided.
