They are terrible about returning calls and you can never speak to a person. If you need to make an appointment have a RX refilled or anything you can't get in touch with them and forget getting an appointment even if you are an established patient.
I've been going to this group for years and they are terrific! Nice clean facility, the receptionists are friendly & considerate and the doctors are great. My favorite doctor is Dr. Burton. He is very smart, listens well, has patience and is respectful.
The doctors at Halifax Medical Specialist are all very caring doctors. I would recommend any of them to anyone. I have a doctor there and am very satisfied with how well I am treated and how he treats my medical issues. As for the secretary that seemed to be allowed to make medical decisions, that's not true. Sometimes people take it upon themselves to make decisions and the clinic shouldn't be blamed for that. This office contains several doctors and their policy is IF you want to switch doctors you cannot. They will toss you out of their office. I'd say that's being a bit uncooperative and paranoid.

I was referred to this clinic because I needed a local heart doctor. I had been seen in the emergency room in the area 3 times in a 2 week period with heart pain, extremely fast heart rate ( over 110bpm while resting) and also for a very low resting heart rate of between 40-50 bpm. On the Day of my appointment the closed the clinicn because of "snow" homwever i had to make a 22 miles round trip to get my brother to a radiation appointment that very same day.
