We have been back a handful of times and had great experiences, we returned on Friday and our server was Kai. I am unsure if he was stretched thin or was just having a rough night. Our meal for 6 took 2.5 hours. We sat, ordered drinks, he quickly returned, took appetizers and meal orders, no food for an hour. Had a half and half portion of butterfish and braised short rib. The butterfish was pretty good, but the braised short rib - well, I've had (cooked) pot roast in a crock pot that matched the taste/quality of the braised short rib. Also had the ahi for appetizer and it was okay, nothing special. Overall, dinner for 2 - $200 and change. Not exactly worth the cost, but it was on property and we were hungry.
The power went out the moment we received our food. We had to eat our entire meal in the dark - and had to pay full price and of course give tip. I was disappointed - it was my wife’s bday and we sat for an hour eating our dinner with our cellphones out with the flashlight. It was ridiculous.
Good restaurant with amazing views and wonderful staff. However I thought the food was a bit over seasoned. The goat fondue was really salty (but good). The short rib was solid (maybe a tad dry) and the mashed potatoes was solid salty it almost stung my tongue. I like the butterfish. It was a bit too sweet for me but I still enjoyed it.
